Chapter 6 – How Beautiful

“God created man in his image… male and female he created them…. God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good.”  (Genesis 1:27, 31a)

“God’s image is not a static picture stamped on our souls.  God’s image is a dynamic source of inner spiritual energy drawing our minds and hearts toward truth and love, and to God himself, the source of all truth and love.”  (USCCA, p. 67)

We are created in the image of God, and Jesus is the fullness of the self-disclosure of God (USCCA, p. 13) (Colossians 1:15 says “He is the image of the invisible God”).   Through baptism into Christ we are “being renewed” to the image of our Creator (Col. 3:10).  … And “How Beautiful” indeed is that image!

As you watch this video think (and then perhaps share!) about question #1 on page 72:  “When you hear yourself described as being created in the image of God, what comes to your mind? What would help you perceive that being made in God’s image encourages you to do good things? How should a person created in God’s image live?”
